Am I fracking alone here?!

Fracking is here. It’s not going away. The political volleyball of the hour….to regulate or not to regulate, that is thy question.

Political focus must shift from election to production. The focus should be on the jobs that are needed most at this phase of fracking. Regulation can mean giving, not just taking.

Safety = jobs. Safety does not = socialism. Safety = life, health, wealth. Safety does not = boot on your throat.Safety should not be stealth or sacrificed for profits. Safety is a source of prosperity being stifled by the fear of expense. Safety is not an expense or a liability. Safety is an asset, a demand, a right and a privilege.

Safety jobs can be created NOW. They are needed NOW. Scratching at the surface are research, sampling, testing, designing, building, selling, teaching, servicing, marketing, trading futures,…..of products, services, education,…. in an industry that does not yet exist but is clawing it’s way out of the genie’s bottle. The industy not yet known as Natural Gas Safety and Health. Subsidies abound to qualifying companies.

Regulation can breed the change we hoped for, the change we need, the jobs we need, the health we need, the good angel on the shoulder we all need. Regulation done right, done smart. Regulation that can’t be bought will bring the change I voted for but have yet to receive.

Does anyone agree that time and opportunity are being squandered? If so, what are you going to do about it?

Takin' It Back

Decades of sloppy governing and these guys get asked to serve again & again. It is time to wipe the slate clean. All of these current politicians are like a jungle trying to take back their land from man. If you stand pat for too long they will smother you and take you for their own. I’m ready to put some over-priced gas in my weed wacker and start taking this country back.

Who’s comin’ with me?

Why we Are in the Streets

#Occupy. Come Together

The face of the #OccupyWallStreet movement could very well be Rodney Dangerfield at the current time.  http://www.rodney.com/home/home.asp

The GOP has clearly rallied around a game plan based on defamation in an attempt to stamp out what they see as a matchbook smoking on the sidewalk.  This is fantastic news for the #Occupy movement.  They have Reps. Allen West (R-Fla.) and Steve King (R-Iowa) publicly decrying the protests.

King said, “This is the Left looking for a cause,” and added that he’s “seen no evidence” that the movement is organic.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/10/07/allen-west-steve-king-occupy-wall-street-protest_n_1000938.html

The 1st or 2nd highest ranking Republican official, Eric Cantor, (1st if your Cantor, 2nd if your Boehner) indicated that #OccupyWallStreet is “Americans are fighting Americans” and he has “concerns”.

http://www.commondreams.org/headline/2011/10/07-4

The reality is that these are tactical statements made to stamp out the flames and divert attention away from the shaking in their wing tips. What they have failed to recognize is that the protests on the grounds of Zuccotti Park/Liberty Square are merely the kindling of a fire that is already burning bright and out of their control.  The backdraft is roaring and the blue collar servicemen and women that do actual civic duties in thankless fashion are behind this blaze.  They are the 99%.

The 1% and their electorate puppets on “both sides of the aisle” are trying to get out in front of this movement…out in front of the backdraft.  But not this time.  Tommy Gavin can’t even stare this one down. #TommyGavin

Rushing out of the House (or Senate) may be your only chance for career survival if you choose to spray your hoses on this fire. Our preferred method for your survival is to see an about face and respect for the marching orders the President and Commander in Chief has laid before all of Congress.  We need jobs, we need action, we need positivity and cooperation.  We need you to perform your job at a high level just like we are expected to. You are not elected to be a fundraiser for your junior members.  You are elected to fix what is broken not sabotage it further until you can take credit when nobody is looking.  Do your job and do it…yesterday.  The public service politicians provide was intended by the Founding Fathers to be voluntary. It has become big business.  Now we collectively pay you out of our own salaries.  We understand that it may be peanuts in comparison to the 1%’s special interest dowry, but that well will run dry the second we vote you out.

The 1% has proven for 30 plus years that they don’t typically lose these battles. However, there were more of them back then.  It seems that they are like Tigers….they eat their young.  But this is no ordinary battle.  This is no 300. Your hearts and abs are no worse for wear against a movement made of 3 generations.  It is fitting that Gen’s X & Y are putting a period on your reign. Many of us were Born Under Punches (And the Heat Goes On).

You see this fire is fueled by an endless passion from an endless number of supporters.  They include a large constituency of the folks you currently have registered as loyal supporters.  It is only a matter of time before a wave of the #TeaParty comes crashing as they realize that they are in tune with the core ideals of #Occupy. #Occupy, the large-scale, global movement.  Not just the Wall Street kindling.

There are significant obstacles keeping these two massive groups from joining together.  #Occupy’s infancy and temporary ill communication of a core value system, not to mention mainstream media’s focus on the “less than photogenic” contingency currently being vilified by “respectable new sources”.  Those factors combined with the diabolical genius of the GOP’s political GPS means this merger could be a slow play for the ages.  Lucky for the 99%, the times they are a changin’. We can reach the other end of the world in a click.  We can bond and band together in just a few months, weeks, minutes.

Based on the GOP’s proven history of stonewalling ideals they were grandstanding merely months prior, the merger could very well resemble a hostage negotiation by the end.  They won’t let their people go without a fight.  But “their people” aren’t REALLY their people. They have very little in common by way of direction and long term goals.  In order to regain power in the near term, the GOP’s goals don’t match anyone except the 1%.  And that simply doesn’t work for us.  So the sooner factions of the groups are positioned to unite, the results will swiftly be formed into an overwhelming majority poised to make our elected Capitol Hill government employees a part of the #99%.  If that is what it takes to make you hear us, to make you listen…that will certainly be arranged.  Demands you want…demands you will get.

Clearly there are considerable hurdles for this blessed union and the 1%’s fear mongering expertise is primary.  Not since Joe Rogan fled for the octagon have we seen such calculated and gross displays of manipulation of our general public played out on television.  For arguments sake we’ll use #PlannedParenthood as an example since Mr. Cantor is currently shining an intimidating flashlight in the eyes of this public health service institution.  This appears to be an issue where the two organizations have serious core differences.  But do they really?  Does the Tea Party really want to take away a public health service? Or is it that they want to eliminate what they have been fed as an Abortion Factory?  Fear is one of the most powerful of human emotions and THE MOST easily manipulated.  Ask Freddy…or Jason…or Chucky. They all made a healthy living off of your fear just like the 1%.  Fear convinces some of us that Planned Parenthood is an abortion factory when in fact the sons and daughters of wealthy, poor, right and left leaning parents have used their public services for decades.  Too scared or embarrassed to see their regular doctor or simply lacking healthcare, students and dropouts alike owe a debt to this organization.  PP has helped their rashes clear up, provided access to counseling and contraceptives.  Their services may be the sole factor that enabled the existence of your 1st grandchild by nipping that potentially crippling disease in the bud before it wreaked havoc on her reproductive organs.

This analogy may raise eyebrows of a skeptical retiree with a financial cushion or a steadily employed father of 4 who just threw a nice little sweet 16 party for his baby girl.  But they must snap out of it and embrace empathy for the children left behind jobless 2 years now, with a Masters degree and 6 figure debt.  Many of your junior’s in college only have another year before joining #Occupy.  And they will if you don’t wake up.  But the rest of you, your children and grandchildren have no choices, no options, dwindling hope, and deteriorating dreams. If you continue to choose a side, a right, a left you are just doing circles.  It is as if you took four rights or lefts and ask the next stranger for directions to the same destination from the same starting point.  You’re digging your offspring’s virtual grave. Quite possibly a literal one.

What happens when that debt burden becomes too much to bear?  Do you bear arms instead? The easy access to firearms cherished by so many may enable their kin to embrace suicidal or homicidal tendencies. It can never happen to me…until it does.

I refuse to believe the Tea Party wants to eliminate this much needed public health service.  Do they even know the benefits it provides or just the evils they have been fed?  Are those evil’s even true? Let’s start working together to find out.  You and I.  Me and You.  Not Mr. Speaker and insert title here.  We have to be the ones to get this done.  The 99% has to get this done and no steps will be too difficult to take.  The next round of elected officials MUST realize we need to build bridges, not burn them.  We need to decide who those leaders will be.  We need to come together now.  Election day is the culmination of our efforts.  We should know the outcome without tuning in.  We decided it. It cannot be stolen or manipulated because we are on the same page. We are one.  We want to do well, by doing good.  Let’s find and promote the leaders that understand and sustain.

When today’s political leaders’ long-term view is 1 year from now, how can we possibly elevate our differences and discuss them intelligently? Our elected leaders stumble and stammer over each other in an attempt to load their war chests with corporate handouts and handshake commitments from their sworn enemies.  Egos and masterful manipulation of the mainstream media have brought the global economy to a grinding halt. The 1%’s inability to grasp that economic tourniquets are permanent by nature is quickly stopping the pulse of the United States of America and many other countries around the world.  They are resolved to the reality that they have enough capital to kick back with their feet up and and wait out Obama’s term.  They will stop at nothing to devalue his presidency.  Can you afford a year worse than last year?   Binder clips and birth certificates are stories met with debate and air time while genuine citizen uprising is met as the equivalent of refusing to believe your precious child could possibly be disruptive in the class room.  Disassociating the current administration with any sort of success is the ultimate goal of the opposition party at the expense of those most responsible for handing them their jobs.  Yet you still support them.

The 1% has every intention of keeping it this way…for at least another year or so. Most likely another 30 years.  They are already brushing their white horses and buffing a sheen into their knight’s armor.  Well…more accurately they are paying someone less than minimum wage (possibly under the table) to do it for them.

In a demented way, you have to respect the sleight of hand, the hypnotization of half a nation of mostly educated, passionately concerned citizens genuinely wanting what is best for those they love most.  The adult version of give me your lunch money, vote me into student council, homecoming court and I will make sure the burnouts over there don’t strip your car and your girl.  Stay Gold Pony.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LmLkLCOs-DE&feature=related

Today’s political climate is a power play with one side struggling for answers and support and the opposition struggling to stay relevant.  Trapped miners, Helen Keller, or even a newborn could sense that the answers and policies to right this ship are clear and within grasp.  You hear successful right leaning business leaders say, “When your in debt, do you spend your way out of it?”  While there is clearly no silver bullet, many respected economists actually say that increased spending is the best way to jump start the economy.  That generates revenue that can be used to pay down the debt.  After all, this isn’t your family budget we are talking about where saving $100 a week will turn into a paid off credit card.  This is a Global Effing Economy!  It’s a whole different beast.  We need jobs.  We need projects that lead to jobs.  We agree that cuts can and need to be made.  We are NOT anti-business in any respect.  We are a capitalist nation fighting to stay at the top.  Until we collectively resolve the unemployment crisis we will fall more and more behind.  The decisions we make today will shape our children.  The decisions multi-nationals made last year laid of over droves of Americans while subsequently hiring more overseas employees than they laid off here.  They are growing their businesses, but not here in the US.  Our people deserve better and they need positivity in their lives in order to thrive.  We are simply not giving that basic tenet to them.  We need banks to loan money to qualified businesses of all sizes.  Their balance sheets are stacked with capital that was gifted in multiple rounds of bail-outs with the sole purpose of putting it back into the economy instead of sitting on it like Humpty Dumpty trying to avoid a great fall.  This TARP that the #TeaParty rallied around was initiated by the GOP administration and furthered by the current one.  Both were in unchartered waters and were shooting flares.  We must all stop pointing fingers and looking over our shoulders.  Let’s join together in getting the 99%’s interests met.  That TARP money has grown in interest gains but has not made it’s way back into the economy.  So what we have today is pure economic gridlock.  The #Occupy movement is our #Karmaggedon. The citizens are warning the 1% and their elected puppets with a very simple statement, our demands if you will.  That statement is that this road is closed, indefinitely.  The road that led to the 1% monopolizing every aspect of American life is closed.  Competition is back and the policy makers are officially put on notice.  This starts with the President and ends with each one of us with nobody left out in between.  The President’s primary statement of solidarity with the 99% is to stand up against the Tar Sands Pipe Line.  You want our vote, vote against this pipe line.  Vote for it and you’ve clearly shown you stand with the 1%.

The desperate reality is that 99% of the country is in survival mode right here, right now. And things get ugly in survival mode. Desperate times call for desperate measures.  Shipmates eat each other to stay alive in prolonged misery.  The survivors never recover from their experiences and they cannot escape the memories of those hopeless days.  To CNN and pundits of all networks trying to poke holes in the 99%’s thought bubbles, this IS a movement.  This IS happening. I suggest you take a sober tone because these voices are to be taken seriously.  You are expendable.  Social media and online news sources are running circles around you and have been for years.  The word is out and you may be too. Advertising dollars are not paid to networks with no viewers.  We simply no longer need you especially as you chuckle and chide 99% of the population.  If you expect to survive, you need to understand that you need us and we need real journalism.  These voices heard on Wall Street live in every corner of the United States, Europe, the Middle East, etc.

This is the world that #99% of us are living in. Winter on Wall Street, nobody wants that.  But when you are homeless, where else do you go? When your heat was turned off you find warmth in the comfort of others.

We can only hope the Tea Party realizes that there is comfort in numbers. That they embrace the reality that their movement has been hijacked by those it was originally formed to oppose. We can only hope that #Occupy embraces a marriage of movements despite their different opinions of what marriage actually is.  The definition of marriage is the least of our problems.  Divorce is our problem.  This is not Americans against Americans Mr. Cantor.  This is Americans against YOU. The Party of No, Mr. Can’tor is not a viable option.  99% don’t care who gets credit for righting the ship.  It just needs righting…no pun intended.

The liberals think the media is controlled by the right and vice versa, when in fact it’s controlled by the 1%.  It’s clear a vast majority of the right and the left in office today are also controlled and/or influenced by the 1% as are a significant portion of the appointed Supreme Court.  #OccupySesameStreet was just a parody.  We aren’t actually looking for greedy puppets in office.  The 1% is teaching a masters class in media manipulation by depicting the #TeaParty and #Occupy as polar opposites. The reality is they share the same foundation. It is obvious that they reside on different floors, teams, offices, cubes. But they are in the same building.  Maybe they need a team building retreat to climb rock walls and do trust falls with each other.  Maybe rounds of golf like Barry O. and Johnny B.? Do we need to wait for the holiday season to party together?  Let’s tear the Roof of this #MothaSucka right now.
